Smart Locks That Redefine Home Security in 2026
Keys are becoming a relic of the past. Today’s digital deadbolts are more than just locks; they are the central hub of your home’s security. Here are the top professional-grade choices for Naples homeowners.
1. August Wi-Fi Smart Lock (Gen 4+)
The August Wi-Fi Smart Lock remains the king of “invisible” upgrades. Because it replaces only the interior thumbturn of your existing deadbolt, you can keep your beautiful exterior hardware—perfect for Naples HOAs that require a specific look.
- Auto-Unlock: Uses Bluetooth and Geofencing to unlock the door as you walk up with your groceries.
- Remote Access: Built-in Wi-Fi means no extra bridges. Lock or unlock from anywhere in the world.
- Siri/Google/Alexa: Full voice control integration for the modern smart home.
2. Schlage Encode Plus (Apple Home Key)
This is currently the most requested lock in Pelican Bay and Grey Oaks. The Encode Plus supports Apple Home Key, allowing you to unlock your door by simply tapping your iPhone or Apple Watch against the lock—just like Apple Pay.
- Built-in Alarm: Sensors detect forced entry attempts and sound an ear-piercing siren.
- ANSI Grade 1: The highest residential security rating for physical durability.
- Guest Codes: Program up to 100 unique codes for friends, family, or your Naples cleaning service.
3. Kwikset Halo Biometric
If you want to ditch the phone entirely, the Kwikset Halo Biometric uses your fingerprint as the key. It is the ultimate in convenience for joggers or those who frequent Vanderbilt Beach and don’t want to carry anything.
- Fingerprint Capacity: Stores up to 50 users with 100 fingerprints.
- SmartKey Security: Protects against advanced break-in techniques and allows for easy rekeying.
- No Hub Required: Connects directly to your home Wi-Fi network.
⚠️ Why Professional Installation Matters
Smart locks require perfect alignment. If your door is slightly warped from the Naples humidity, a smart motor will jam and drain your battery in days. Naples Locksmith 24/7 ensures your door is planed and the strike plate is aligned for a friction-free, secure fit.
